Saltwater Grill in Panama City Beach is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Joyner as Executive Chef. Originally from Ashford, AL, Chris is a Navy veteran with submarine experience. Located in Panama City since 1999, Chris attended Gulf Coast State College receiving a degree Culinary Management in 2002.

Chris grew his culinary reputation at Watercolor Inn & Resort on 30A working at Fish out of Water, promoted to Sous Chef, and then Chef de Cuisine at the Baithouse Restaurant, which was featured in Southern Living. Leaving Watercolor, Chris became Chef and Partner at Onano Neighborhood Café in Rosemary Beach, an upscale, coastal Italian restaurant that specialized in seafood and fresh pastas. His experience also includes opening Coast Food & Wine in Grayton Beach as Chef and Partner. The restaurant was an upscale, casual seafood restaurant with an emphasis on local ingredients popular with the locals.

With such a rich journey through the local culinary scene as a cook, chef, partner in many wonderful 30A restaurants, Chris is a natural fit at Saltwater Grill. He is firmly committed to the area, as is his wife of 12 years, Betty, an English professor at Gulf Coast State College.
